So here we are again, hoping we can pull off the same magic! Start a new life in the enchanting town of Portia! Restore your Pa's neglected workshop to its former glory by fulfilling commissions, growing crops, raising animals, and befriending the quirky inhabitants of this charming post-apocalyptic land!īut before you go on this unique adventure, we need your help to build My Time at Sandrock into the best experience it can be! We’re so grateful for your support on the Kickstarter for My Time at Portia back in 2018 it really helped propel that game into what it is today. Many people left, leaving the place in its vagarious state found today. At first, the city attracted many prospectors interested in an extensive supply of relics hidden beneath the desert, but, as time went on, the oasis dried up, leaving the city unable to sustain a large population. It was founded beside Martle’s Oasis on top of an ancient metropolis. Sandrock is a city-state located in the Eufaula Desert within the Alliance of Free Cities. It’s up to you and your trusty toolset to gather resources, construct machines, and fix up your workshop into a well-oiled production machine, and save the town from the jaws of economic ruin, as well as a few other unexpected complications. You'll take the role of a fledgling Builder to Sandrock. However, the lack of options can feel frustratingly limiting and can create a feeling of dissonance for those who spend a great deal of time creating unique playable characters.Welcome back to the Alliance of Free Cities, and to the rugged mining town of Sandrock in My Time at Sandrock!įollow-up to Pathea Games' simulation RPG, My Time at Portia, you will build up a brand new workshop and help out a struggling town in the most epic and legendary ways imaginable! Because My Time at Sandrock is an early access farming simulation game, it is possible additional clothing options and customization abilities will be introduced at a later time, with the developers currently focusing on core mechanics over cosmetic extras. Because of this, character builds can clash garishly with outfits, and unfortunately, options don't improve dramatically after getting established in the game. While it is possible additional customization options for muscle tone, weight, and shape could become available in future updates, currently, it feels limiting and off-balance compared to the amount of control given over facial features and color choices. While facial details are plentiful, players have no control over their character's body type, causing all protagonists to have the same physical shape. Unfortunately, there are a few areas that are limited when creating a character in My Time at Sandrock, including a lack of body type diversity and height options. This not only boosts replayability but ensures that farming simulation mechanic staples like dating and marriage don't all blend together due to visually similar characters. Every character made in this type of creator is going to vary from the last, allowing players to have a different adventure in each playthrough. The level of detail in My Time at Sandrock isn't even seen in Pokémon Legends: Arceus' limited character creator, and acts as an example of why the ability to create truly unique characters is important. Similar to the character creator in The Sims 4, players can shift and change features with these sliders to create detailed and unique protagonists. However, when a tab has been selected, the creator opens a sub-tab that contains numerous customization sliders for each area of focus. Players have the ability to select unique face shapes, hairstyles, mouth types, nose sizes, and even facial tattoos. ![]() One of the first big changes players will notice in My Time at Sandrock's character customization are the many different tabs that can be accessed in a sidebar on the righthand side of the creator's screen. ![]()
